For the time being, this blog will serve as our "newsletter." We publish stories that defy any other plausable explanation other than there is life after life... and death may mean the end of a physical body but it does not mean the end of a relationship. Our loved ones are always with us. They are still here... after.

Today is my mother's birthday. And her little sister was born today as well, so it's also my aunt's birthday. She was also my godmother. They have both passed on but I felt like they must have been watching over my husband today during his (minor) surgery. Although I didn't get a sign like I normally would; still, I believed.
After we arrived home from the hospital, I had to make a call to my insurance company. The woman who answered had an accent from upstate New York. My mother was from upstate New York, the next town over. The woman said her name was Bernie. I asked her if it was short for Bernadette. And she said it was. I told her how my mother used to talk all the time about being in the musical, "A Song for Bernadette" (about the story of Saint Bernadette). Bernie said she got chills because her father named her after Saint Bernadette. Thus was the validation that my mother was around for my husband's surgery on her birthday.
